a negative plus a negative equals a negative
A positive plus a negative or a negative plus a positive subtract the smaller from the larger and adopt the larger sign. :)

@soycd98 Yeah, it is. I was trying out a new method at the time.
I will be redoing both this video and the subtracting integers one once I'm through wit the batch I'm currently working on. It should become easier to understand.

Does Negative plus Negative not add up to Positive?

@DJmasterdemi Nope. It's a common misconception. People often overgeneralize the multiplication rule onto addition.
Basically...
Negative + Negative = Negative
Negative * Negative = Positive

@sushi10111 Just like students learn in different ways, teachers also teach in different ways. Sometimes, a good teacher seems bad simply because their teaching style doesn't work for a student's learning style. Hang in there!
