Critics hated the movie, but the soundtrack by Chad and Jeremy is beautifully crafted psychedelic pop.
The great music on this soundtrack album has always been scarce, except for the song "Paxton Quigley's Had the Course," which was included on Chad and Jeremy's 1969 Columbia album The Ark. Since that song is widely available, I didn't include it here. Three of the four songs featured have never been released on CD!
1) "Good Morning Sunrise"^
2) "Tobey's Song"*
3) "Paxton's Song (Smoke)"^
4) "Know Yourself"^
*released as a bonus track on Sundazed's 2006 CD reissue of The Ark.
^never before reissued in any form
These songs were ripped from a near mint extant copy of the original 1968 soundtrack album on Sidewalk Records using a Stanton T55 turntable with the standard Stanton 500.V3 cartridge. I did not--and I do not, as a policy--use any noise reduction technology.
Great bass and Mc Cartneyesque vocals. Thanks for posting.
