Today, Apple announced that the full back catalog of the Beatles Albums will now be available on iTunes. Which is of course fantastic news, however people appear to be a bit uneasy with the marketing method used. What do you guys think? was the hype far too much for such an event.

  • Apple never would have released a cloud service without a major public announcement. It was over hyped mostly by the public.

  • @michaelmckeever9 That is a good point, all Apple really done was add some text to their home page on the web site, we the tech community went mental as usual about what we thought it was going to be. Thanks for the comment mate

  • The Beatles not being on iTunes or any other (legal) download service has meant that a whole generation has really missed out on them. I find it hugely ironic however that people are making such a huge fuss over this and saying how it's really non-news and that The Beatles aren't all that interesting then I look at the god damn music charts and see the likes of Justin Bieber, JLS and other talentless shits nobody will remember in 5 years never mind 45.

  • I'm a teenager and I screamed when I saw that they put The Beatles on iTunes. :D I've been waiting for this day for years, and now it's finally come true. :) Maybe not a day I'll remember for the rest of my life, but certainly a very, very exciting day, indeed.

  • Just another chimp making crap pointless videos off of someone else's success STFU

  • I was hyped before and after, as I had grown up with the Beatles as my dad had been. I was pleased as it had shown respect to the Beatles and the whole unity in the music industry. This also had shown everyone a movement on from the arguments between apple and apple corps.

  • @floydpink2222 Apple Lossless

  • It wasn't overhyped at all. November 16 was/is an important day to Apple because it was the sign of the resolution of a 32 year old trademark infringement case with Apple Corps, Ltd., the Beatles' record company.

  • @honson7 It was written just to gain interest. You can see the likes of that in many splash screens, banners and ads.

  • I am really happy, but I already have all their albulms so not that stoked

  • Two millions sales in week. Therefore no, the hype was not too much. ;)

  • What format are he songs??? MP3, FLAC, AIFF or.....

  • @TalesOfWar I don't think it's a big deal ... but I do agree that many younger folks who DL all their music from iTunes didn't have the opportunity to hear their music. For people like me who like the Beatles ... well .. we have had their vinyl, cassette tapes, CD, and MP3s ripped from CDs long before iTunes became popular. So no biggie.
