Open source products are more reliable than commercia software. This bug belongs to Ms Office 2007 only (earlier versions do not have it)

  • Jajajaja, it is completely true, I've just recently installed MS excel 2007 and in the first usage i tried that bug and it shows 100000

  • yeah, I notice in MS office you put 77,1 but in open office you put 77.1

  • Eh? That is because you screwed your Office localization settings.

German and some other European versions of Excel use a comma as a decimal separator, as is the norm for common usage in these countries. English versions on the other hand use a point (period for the Americans) as a decimal separator.

Thats whats causing the incorrect readings.

  • put two more zeros after 1. no one will put comma (77,1) 77,100 try that 850*77,100

  • Pues nada, seguramente tenias configurada la celda de mala manera porque a mi me sale 65535.

  • HE GOT THE TRAIL VERSION

  • Hahaha, I noticed this in the Beta simply because I was testing the results of an embedded system by passing the values into a text file and doing the math in Excel, I noticed a sudden jump in the figures at numbers close to powers of 2, e.g. 131072. Office 2003 and earlier is fine. And there I was thinking it would be fixed in the release... Mind you they didn't fix the Outlook Notes bug either...

  • Hmmm my version of MS office 2007 Ultimate says #VALUE!, so Microsoft must know and have made a patch to fix it (I have updated it since getting it, which is a good idea to do with all software)

  • Yeah,Open Office is free, reliable and has the same features with MS Office.

So,why to pay in order to get MS Office?

People don't be fools, there is a free solution for your daily computing need!

  • Juas...
