Out Here On My Own - UnderThisSmile Cover

This is my cover version of this beautiful ballad from the film "Fame". It was originally recorded by Irene Cara for the original 1980 film and later covered by Lesley Gore (who co-wrote the song with her husband). It is featured on the film's soundtrack and on Lesley Gore's album 'Ever Since'. Naturi Naughton sings the song in the new 2009 film (whose character is modeled after Irene's role in the original film). This song has always meant a lot to me and I can relate with it's message on a very personal level. I'm thrilled that Ms. Naughton is introducing the song to a whole new generation and they will be able to enjoy it as much as I do.

I love the movie FAME. I also like your voice. Just from a true suggestion, could you raise your voice a little higher, so your voice can sound brighter. BTW, you should keep a certain distance while you are sing.
