Footage from first test-n-tune of 2010. This truck is built on a budget with a mostly stock small block Chevy. The turbo is a Borg Warner S400. Runs a 6.18 on this pass, but the truck has run a best of 5.97 in the eighth mile. This could be the worlds fastest rat rod!

  • RollingArtDesigns--I don't own the turbo truck....my wife filmed this pass at I-40 Dragway. I'm actually the guy at the starting line taking pictures of it. That truck is definitely awesome, and everyone loves it.

  • mother fucker that is sweet man.

  • jesus fuck...when that thing took off my mouth dropped wide open........

  • hows it going, thinking of doing a similar conversion but wondering if the s400 is to big for the streets. what revs are you doing when the turbo comes on boost?

  • DAMN that thang is FAST GOOD JOB! Was that at Scooter's drag meet?

  • fuck! thats so bad ass!

  • got damn thats a rocket ship

  • Blown64vette, I just wanna say that is a seriously wicked rod you got there! I really dig the old school rat rods and that thing hauls ass! I bet that truck is a blast to drive. Keep up the awesome work and post more videos of it I'd like to see more!

libertyvill, you need to know what the hell you are talking about before you post a comment! Buy a Turbocharging/Supercharging book and read up on it, Summit Racing sells a book that I bought a while back on it and it was a very useful tool!

  • Turbo lag is real and it's when the engine is at an idle and not producing any boost, then you smash the pedal to the floor, it takes a second for the engine to produce more exhaust to spool up the turbo which in turn makes more power, this slight gap between exhaust gases spinning the turbo to make more power is called "Turbo Lag"!!!

Unlike a Supercharger that is run by a belt or gears when you nail it the power is instant, as soon as the crank spins faster so does the supercharger! NO LAG!!!

  • if you know turbos there isnt acually a such thing as turbo lag,, depending on the size of the turbo depends the rpms needed and what dispalacement and timeing ect... but in short turbo lag is a made up concept
