@2029mom they are kind of white/clear. Depending on the eggs you buy, you might see all kinds of stuff to begin with. After a few days you should notice a triop or two, they will be a distinct shape and move quicker and more deliberate than the rest. They are working their way to the top of the food chain by eating everything else!

For those that keep posting this stuff, the tank is not dirty. A certain amount of algae is unavoidable and does the triops no harm. The detritus at the top of the tank the triops like, it recreates their natural habitat and they will filter through it for food.
