George Galloway - London Protest 24th Feb 2007

This is a video of George Galloway's speech at the demonstration in London on 24th February 2007.

George was one of many distinguished guests who spoke to the thousands of people gathered in Trafalgar Square.

George pointed out that the Government has no money to spend on health care of the elderly but has plenty of money for nuclear weapons and war.

Tony Blair took us to war on Iraq to find weapons of mass destruction. There were none. 655,000 Iraqis, over 3000 US soldiers and 130 British soldiers have died in that illegal war. Now Blair wants to spend up to £76 billion on new Trident nuclear weapons for a 'defence' policy based on indiscriminate killing of millions.

Stop the War, CND and BMI organised the national demonstration to say no to these insane policies of death and destruction.

He does attend Remembrance Day events ... but so what if he doesn't? It's not illegal. I would be more concerned if he fabricated reports about WMDs, lied to the Houses of Parliament and invaded another country on the orders of a foreign president.

I also fail to see why he should be expected to welcome soldiers home. The public don't welcome me home from work and I haven't spent the day occupying someone elses country.

Do you see Blair or that bumbling idiot Brown welcoming home soldiers?

If you actually cared about our troops you wouldn't have sent them to Iraq based on lies. No point "welcoming" them back if you sent them into an illegal war in the first place.

Somehow pretending Galloway is the bad guy here is pathetic. But I expect nothing less from Bush-Blair supporters who were suckered into the lies which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

The freedoms given to me were not secured by people who believed in invasion, torture, lies, propaganda and breaches of the Geneva Convention.

Protesting about an illegal war supported by lies and fabricated evidence has nothing to do with anyones ability to fight.
