@cliolord i realize that the engine bay is still hot but you also dont have a filter inhibiting air coming to the turo and also heat soaking, in return you also spool quicker as well. and no they didnt leave it off to save weight. they left it off becuse there are benafits behind it... but it can also be very dangerous because if anylittle thing hits those turbo fins your turbo is fucked.
