This kit from Trumpeter in 1/35 scale is quite beneficial (22€) and the quality is superb. Photo etched parts and an aluminium barrel are included.
I decided to build a tank wreck, because i wanted to test some rust pigments and some new techniques.

The T-62 is a Soviet main battle tank, a further development of the T-55. Its 115 mm gun was the first smoothbore tank gun in use.
The T-62 was produced between 1961 and 1975. It became a standard tank in the Soviet arsenal, partly replacing the T-55, although that tank continued to be manufactured in the Soviet Union and elsewhere after T-62 production was halted. The T-54/55 and T-62 were later replaced in front-line service by the T-64 and T-72.
During the Soviet war in Afghanistan, the T-62 was a primary tank used by the Soviet army. The Soviets used tanks in a similar way to what the US Army did in Vietnam, with the use of many in fire support bases. Towards the end of the war T-62Ms, using the BDD appliqué armor, appeared in large numbers. Numerous T-62s fell victim to Mujahideen attacks, especially from antitank landmines. Others fell into the hands of the Afghan Mujahideen after they were left behind by withdrawing Soviet forces.

  • Next time why don't you try and portray the T-62 in it's former glory instead of rotting away in Middle Eastern desert..

  • @UnbreakableKGB its my decision, isn´t it? maybe i do another modern soviet tank, maybe not. it is not always the point to show it in a glorious situation.

  • Very nice indeed, very inspirational for my burnt out sherman dragon wagon load.

I love your use of PC game music in your vids!

  • @bruce3371 thank you very much :) i use music from pc games very often because it sounds good and there are usually no problems with copyrights.

  • That is some great detailing and effects, I like your diorama.

  • @MisplacedTexan4 thanks mate :)

  • @UnbreakableKGB Next time, why don't you build something yourself of what you would like to have and not force others to build exactly what you like eh?

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 LOL! love that comment, it's common knowledge that it's hard to find referance photo's of T-62 tanks that haven't been knocked out by NATO or coalition forces .

Yours is very appropriate and well done I really like your armor builds.

  • Did you hear that? I thought I heard some gunshots and terrorist!
