@lamdash Well if you know the term of a cold deck nowadays, then why are you mistaking it with what it used to mean...
You're probably right about that definition, but nowadays on television, forums and live play, people just refer to a cold deck when they're talking about a unavoidable situation, simply a cooler.

lol all player from partypoker are donks
-
@lucassummers1 Plenty of places do it for the sheer entertainment factor. It's actually pretty cool when everyone has like KK QQ AA JJ etc and seein how they all act.
But even still, Cold Deck means fixed deck dated or not, that's what it means.

@ELREndLondonRule Not anymore... Such a dated term. Why would they have a fixed deck on a televised game of poker? Think about it. Just refers to the crazy beat.
-
@WaspSnG "Cold deck" is a reference to cheating, though these days it's used more to refer to a bad beat or an unavoidable cooler. The term "cold deck" referred to home games where a mechanic or sharp would swap the deck in play using sleight of hand or misdirection with one where he had set up the order of cards ahead of time. The deck was said to be "cold" because it hadn't previously been in play and the cards might have been cold to the touch.

A cold deck does mean a fixed deck. Look it up for yourself, dude.

@ELREndLondonRule You have literally no idea what the term 'cold deck' means...

@54israelsilva As for this video: this is a 6-Max format and out of 6 players, 5 players are dealt a pair in their hand. Three of them get the three biggest pairs and three strongets hands possble (before any other cards on the table are deal): AA, KK, QQ (in that order of strength). After a lot of betting/raising, the player with the KK decides to fold (not play his hand) and AA and QQ get all their chips in to the pot. Eventually KK would've won, altough he made a really good fold.
-
@54israelsilva I tried to explain it short and briefly, but I discovered that, that isn't possible. You should look up some information about this game (Texas Hold'Em, No Limit) on the internet to understand more about it.
After that, you can download poker software (PokerStars, PartyPoker or Everest Poker for example) and start playing for playmoney (if you're 18 years or older) to really get to know the game. It's a great game to play and if you're good, you can make a lot of money with it.
DO THEY EVEN SHUFFLE THOSE CARDS??
