Music Man, p3 - Michael Zaslow as David Renaldi

Concert pianist, David Renaldi (Michael Zaslow), returns to Llanview with ALS. Rev. Andrew Carpenter (Wortham Krimmer) is the firs Concert pianist, David Renaldi (Michael Zaslow), returns to Llanview with ALS. Rev. Andrew Carpenter (Wortham Krimmer) is the first to encounter him at Llanview Hospital where he is to be close to his family, particularly Cassie Carpenter (Laura Koffman), his biological daughter with Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser). Dorian pleads with him to see his daughter but David is resistant to being what he considers a burden to his family due to his condition. Part 3 of 3.

very touching scenes.. poor micheal.. it's also sad they killed off the character of jenny, david's wife.

I agree. I kept hoping that Jenny would be discovered alive. I know Brynn Thayer (Jenny, OLTL) really wanted to return to the show. It was too bad that it never happened.

one thing that i love that oltl did when michael zaslow left and finally died when left he ask could his charater not die but live on off-screen i think that was great finally wish OLTL honored

Dorian pleading to David to allow the people he loved to love him and the way she buried her head in his chest and sobbed with him was unbelievably moving......Strasser, Zaslow and OLTL deserve so much credit and kudos for this and for giving an actor of the highest class and talent like Michael Zaslow the treatment he so richly deserved

This is quite simply an acting tour de force, from two of the best actors ever in daytime television. Soaps never before had me emotional, but this did. Maybe because it looked and felt more REAL than acted out. Started off as a "Welcome Home", ended as a "Good-Bye" and was a lesson to us all along. Kudos to OLTL for treating Michael Zaslow as he deserved to be treated.

Not as an actor first, but as a human being.

Rest In Peace Michael - you did your job, and taught us all in the process.

From what I have heard, OLTL and Brynn came to mutual agreement that they wanted the story's focus to be on Zas and his fight against the disease, and David's relationship with Cassie, and not supercouple David and Jenny. Therefore Brynn agreed to step aside, but wished Jenny could come back. And she can easily.

I didn't know Brynn wanted to return! It's like the show kinda glossed over Jenny's death. "Oh, and by the way Jenny was killed in an avalance. Now, back to what's going on with Blair, etc." That made me so mad! Jenny was such an integral part of the show for YEARS and Brynn was excellent in that role! I miss her, too!
