Seeking to develop a better understanding of what New York's independent Hip-Hop scene has become in recent years, I approached three different artists and asked them about their experiences as performers.
This video is intended as a complementary piece to a feature article that explores the changing dynamics of the independent hip-hop scene.

Recognizing that the excitement for the culture no longer compares to what it once was, I sought answers from active participants.
My discussion with PackFM explored the causes for the dramatic change to the scene within the last decade.
LEX took a more optimistic approach, explaining how he handles different audiences while balancing his personal life with a passion for music.
A final conversation with promoter/artist Zeps detailed his unique approach to attracting audiences while giving them new Hip-Hop music.
I captured the majority of the footage on two different nights in March.
