Discover Touring, a major national marketing campaign, launched on Saturday 18th April. The campaign will highlight and promote the benefits and joys of touring in caravans and motorhomes and is funded by The Caravan Club.
The campaign is endorsed by television personality Carol Smillie. Carol comments, As a lover of the great outdoors generally, and walking in particular, I know that touring with a caravan or motorhome is a brilliant way to explore the countryside. Nothing else offers such freedom, fun and flexibility.
The British public have emphatically decided that 2009 is the year of the domestic holiday. Amid gloomy credit crunch reports, one statement resoundingly holds true: people will not forego their holidays. Money is being spent wisely, and the UK is the place to spend it according to holiday booking trends. Caravanning accounts for 19% of all holidays taken in the UK and is the largest paid-for holiday sector.
