ANOTHER response to Variablast PT 1

Variablast if you want this conversation to continue, you will have to do the two things I mention in this video. Otherwise, I feel this is pointless for both of us. BTW, when I say your ignorant, I mean that you lack an understanding of it, which is common of most people and is really nothing to be offended by. In fact, because of the wonderful world known as the internetz, you can fix this apparent lack of understanding African American/civil rights history.

Well, the term nigger derived from the Latin word niger which simply means black and it was used to describe darker-skinned foreigners in general. Prior to the derogatory and degrading use of the term it was merely used as an adjective. It was once an inoffensive synonym for African Americans but it has become slanderous. I can see where Variablast "got that from".

@NeoBards That's not the context he was using it in. If he were, then that would be ok, but what he was saying was that African Americans should be referred to as niggers. And all I said was that's a racial slur against blacks. Go watch his video to see what I'm talking about.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I just watched his "Nigger is not a bad word" video again to see if I missed that part, I listened closely and I did not hear him say that. Are you paraphrasing? It's very easy to distort the actual context.

@NeoBards Well, he is implying it. What he's basically saying is that nigger has no negative connotation and is not a racial slur and african americans should have no problem with being referred to as nigger.

@AGodlessProgressive Don't worry though. I'm sure he will eventually realize that what he set out to do takes time. Possibly more time than he has. What he is doing is a well intentioned gesture at best. To claim the name and even come close to doing what he says he is doing he needs to live with the name. Fuck the Drug War is much easier to live with than SuperNigger Nigger.

I will give him his props and cautiously question him in an effort to force some sort of introspection.
