This game is exactly one year after I scored a goal for the ENFORCERS (Booster Club Team) at half-time. Good memories. This video is courtesy of G. Berthume.

  • ~ Nice ~

I had a chance to play on that floor at halftime for 10 minutes ~ LOL ~ I was 12

I playedgoalie for the Orange Crush local traveling team.

Kai Haaskivi was my hero ~ I'm 40 now & having my first child(a boy) & naming him Kai

  • I have a friend who was a member of the Enforcers Booster Club back in the early 80's.

  • I miss the old Cleveland Force, I was devastated when they folded in 1988. I had just gotten for my birthday that year a Cleveland Force jersey.

  • I love it. Like blackandblue10 said, when I was little, the Force were huge. I just assumed by the crowds that indoor soccer was one of the big 4 sports, because we didn't have an NHL team. If you asked me if I wanted to meet Joe Carter, Bernie Kosar or Kai Haaskivi, I'd have chosen Haaskivi.

  • Cleveland has always been a great MISL Market

  • Great post, lets seem some more

  • I love this! Tacoma Stars and KSTW 11, plus Bob Robertson on the call, this is like a Tacoma time capsule, nicely done.

  • Thanks for the comment dogcow. Pittsburgh was a great MISL city. My idol in high school was Marcio Leite #15 - who played on the same team with Paul Child, Luis Alberto, and I think David Hoggan. When I played for the Force booster club team, we arrived very early to the Civic Arena; in fact, we entered through the same entrance that the Penguins and Spirit did. The fans awaiting to enter the arena thought we were Spirit players. . . they started clapping for us. . .it was quite funny.

  • Thanks for posting this clip. It really takes me back i time. The Major Indoor Soccer League was certainly one of my favorite "junk" sports. Easy to understand, affordable, great for a date or the family and really decent players. Most teams did a lot of community outreach to promote the sport as well as their team.

I lived in Pittsburgh when the Spirit was there, but Cleveland had a fantastic team in the Force. A few years the Spirit outdrew the Pittsburgh Penguins.

  • i remember the Force was just as big a sports team in cleveland as the browns, cavs and indians, 20,000 Fans a night ,man do i miss the Force.
