The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has conducted research proving that the "source of a car's cosmetic crash parts is irrelevant to crash-worthiness," and has asserted that the "real issue about cosmetic parts is cost of car company parts, not the safety of aftermarket parts."

  • @ 1:40 the aftermarket #2 video shows the car sinking deeper by a few inches...but the question is...was an aftermarket absorber used as well?

  • By testing the rebars at such a high speed are you not taking the strength of the rebar out of the equation? How about utility pole to center of the front of the vehicle at 10 mph. You would see a difference in the two with that test. Guaranteed.
