How To Play Diminished And Half Diminished 7th Chords

Let's base everything off of Key of C:

C = C E G
Cmaj7 = C E G B
C7 = C E G Bb
Cmin7 = C Eb G Bb
Cmin7b5 = C Eb Gb Bb (half diminished)
Cdim = C Eb Gb Bbb (diminished)

Diminished Chords are tertiary built up as a series of minor thirds stacked on top of each other

Because of that, you can play the "diminished chord shape" on the guitar in series of minor thirds up or down the fretboard, and still be playing the same diminished chord, because the same notes are involved and nothing changes.

The chords I play as the example are C - Bdim - Am - F - Fm

So the root isn't flatted in a diminished chord? Because in the description.. "C" is flatted for Cdim.
