Just look at Monica Crowley's web site. She apparently exercises no control whatsoever on the comments, so it becomes a public toilet stall, a cesspool.

Racism has no place in any intelligent debate. The Internet has allowed anyone to make a statement, whether they're qualified or not. For many, that's all they can contribute. There's no repercussion to rude remarks. Although racism is there, it's done oftentimes, to cut as deeply as they can. They know that a racist comment will hurt more than anything else. It goes on everywhere and on both sides of the political debate- Say whatever you can to inflict the most damage.
