This is one of the stories i have done for Texas Newswatch, here at the university of Texas at Austin. This particular story is about the green burial option people have now. Watch and give me your thoughts. There is an extra 10 seconds tacked onto the end of the video, that is called pad time that gives the director time to switch back to the anchors once the piece is finished without the screen turning black.

  • @iccwsmfthebest I did write it down, that was part of the assignmant

  • nice little sequence there during your stand-up.

  • @Bignick2700 i just need to get the audio fixed

  • not bad man but it sounds like your reading from a paper. you should try to relax and let the words flow.

  • @settyman They tell us to do it all formal like that. Trust me, i would much rather make this with more of a cordial tone.

  • Gosh dude you're such a douchebag

  • meeh,

    im being cremated

  • I worked in news for a few years and here's my critique if you want it: Your VO was a little bit rigid towards the end. When you're reading you need to have more emphasis at some points and also, slow down your read. As you know, this comes with practice. You would be reading a script if you were doing this professionally so you'll no doubt get better at it. Your stand-up (by the casket) was good.

All in all good job. Thanks for sharing. Good luck.

  • excellent job cowboytd.we're basically watching the news through this video.once again great job

  • Very nice standup. It's funny since I don't hear a southern accent on any news reporter but you do sound professional reporting. I might do this someday.

  • you know i dont know a whole lot about broad casting but youre opening line caught my attention nice job.

  • You're a journalist major? That's what I plan on doing...

  • @CowboyTD ...That is odd youtube did that. All in all it was really good though even with the issues that you were having and getting through them.
