"Stealing a Nation is a documentary film by journalist filmmaker John Pilger about the expulsion of Chagos Islanders. They were forcibly removed by the British government between 1967 and 1973 to Mauritius, 1,000 miles away, so that the island could be used as an American airbase. In March 2005, 'Stealing a Nation' was awarded Britain's most prestigious documentary prize - the Royal Television Society Award It was the recipient of the Royal Television Society's Best British Documentary award in 2004." The people of Guam were not deported from their homeland and yet the American has a base there. So, why were the Chagossian deported? It is not right! They should be given a piece of their island to live on. These are peaceful islanders. They just want to go home and should be allowed to go home! I believe, when they said that they were happy on Diego. There is no global warming and their island will not sink... The world must not forget the Chagossian and their struggle to go home.
