I was on this ship today. Its an amazing ship and beautiful too. There is one thing im mad about though. The Jappenese were supposed to surrender on this ship because it was the most decorated but was done on the missouri instead since trumman was from that state. Now the Missouri is at Hawaii where all the movies are filmed so it gets a lot of income from hollywood and is very maintained. It recieved a new teak deck... which the New Jersey should of got. I served on this ship from 1981 to 1985 , during beriut, plank owner. I miss my shipmates i served with, and miss the ship also. It was a awsome experience!
