Seriously though all cultural differences aside, that is pretty awesome that they did both of those massive trails. I could care less how they do their hair, they put in work to hike that much. As long as they let me have my guns and religion they're ok in my book :)

People have the freedom and right to go wherever, whenever, do whatever they want as long as its legal and go for however long they want! Starting early next year I am going to take a year to bicycle across America! I am going to everything I need on my back!

Too cool. And to the clean cut characters complaining about his hair, her appearance, their looks ect. Try traveling, perhaps to fun spots off the beaten path. Break outside of your own mediocrity, hike over the challenging mountain that traps you inside of a cookie cut-out. Seek self, transcend physical. Bless

Usually thru hikers pack extremely light, I bet the bulk of their weight was the giant baggie of pot that was needed to last them through the entire ordeal.
