Live in London, in 1983.

CHANTILLY LACE:
Written and originally performed by The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson) in 1958. The original version was a massive hit, and a 1972 version by Jerry Lee Lewis was also a No. 1 hit on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart.

The song depicts one side of a telephone conversation, with a young man talking about what he likes in a girl, including: Chantilly lace and a pretty face And a pony tail hanging down That wiggle in the walk and giggle in the talk

The song reached #6 on the pop charts and spent 22 weeks on the national Top 40. It was the third most played song of 1958.

  • @Playstation3Gamer10 Chuck is a Rock 'n Roll god too of course!! Maybe Chuck and Jerry are both the nr.1's !!

  • Whoo, R. Lee Ermey can sure rock it out!

  • LOve this song....but wouls wear lace for his drummer......does anyoen know his name and if he is still performing...have noticed that he hasn't been with JLL for a number of years.....still a cutie

  • @kitcarcollection you realize that the big bopper wrote and originally recorded this song

  • Proclaims he was from Memphis...sorry, missed the word from.

  • I have read thru all these remarks, and just a few comments to them. Yes he is a good musician, I will give him that. In all actuality, the Church threw him out; because of his outrageous (back then anyhow) ways. He proclaims he was Memphis. NO, he was not. He was from Columbus, Ohio; and played in a band in my uncles garage until 1962. He caught an agents eye at a local band concert, backstabbed the whole band, left, and to this day; still lies about it. Proof in lock box in my bank!
