The Phenomenal Handclap Band is a self styled collective of musicians and artists from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Their sound and style had roots in New York and San Francisco, San Paulo and London; some physical and others more spiritual. But imagine a scenario where Curtis Mayfield and Deee-Lite threw a Nu-Yorican party with Afro-beat, Italo-Disco, Turkish Psych, 70's West Coast Rock and Boney M also on the decks.

Live, The Phenomenal Handclap Band is distilled to an eight-member powerhouse, an eye-popping spectacle that overwhelms the senses. Their performance pulses with a savage rhythm section that provides the ultimate foil for cascading guitars and electrified washes of organ and synthesizers. Block party vibes agogo....

We were lucky enough to spend quality time with this Phenomenal bunch; gaining some much needed Funk in our lives with two BIG numbers from the current album 'Form & Control' on Tummy Touch Records.
