  • P.P.S. The user name for the official instructional videos is "InstylerHair"

  • ps The company has a set of 9 instruction videos (2011 DVD) here that shows how to take the Thermal Guard on and off. It helped, although still not exactly easy to remove. It was easier to get in close to the roots with the guard off, but I still wasn't able to get it totally smooth in front. I wasn't able to do the curling technique with the Thermal Guard on either. I tried to post the link to the videos here, but it gave me an error message. Anyone know how to get past that? Thanks.

  • Thank you so much for the well-done video. You look lovely -- so sorry you got burnt! I just got my Instyler off of EBay (new in box, $60, free S/H, Thermo Guard). My hair is long, bushy, thick, wavy & curly. I let it air dry some hours but it was still a bit damp. A lot of work but came out pretty nice, although a bit poofy still, maybe because it wasn't 100% dry to start. Still have bumpy waves in front at the root though -- was scared to get it too close to my scalp to straighten roots.

  • They do not sale that one anymore?

  • @theLovelyTriciaJane Hello lovely one, well to be honest they do not have the original Maxiglide any more,it was much wider than the new one, my hair is unruly, coarse curly has a mind of it's own lolllll the Maxiglide has steam which I prefer, then your hair does not dry up as much as with a non steamer, this is the best feature, I truly wish they would bring back the wider one,ty so much for contacting me back, God Bless. L.O.V.E.

  • @TheEchovoices hey i heard of the maxi glide too, & was thinking of purchasing that over the instyler but i wanted to try this first. So how does the maxiglide work on your hair & what kind of hair do u have?

  • I was just on the verge of ordering one, but thought I would check out some reviews on it first. ...Very happy I saw your video. THANK YOU for saving me money and from (more than likely) getting badly burnt. Appreciate it! :)

  • I actually bought mine at Walmart about a month ago. It came with the attachment. It was $99.

  • Thanks for doing this video. I had the same kind of burn to my fingers that you had from touching the hot barrel on my Instyler. I haven't used it since because of how badly I was burned. I had to sleep with my hand in a large bowl of ice overnight because of the pain. I "didn't" purchase my Instyler from QVC but I'm going to see if I can purchase the thermal protector elsewhere (even though it should be free OR the item should be recalled because of the injuries it's caused).
