The Morton D. May Residence, a 1941 International Style home by Samuel Marx built for the president of May Department Stores Company in the St. Louis suburb of Ladue. The home was considered one of the most significant examples of International Style architecture in the St. Louis region. It was demolished in 2005 and replaced by an oversized McMansion.
Instead of whining about the loss of a home that obviously was not worth it to rehab - why don't you go out in the world and make your fortune so you can build your own dreamhouse.
Modern architecture is nice to look at but totally impracticle to live in. Everything has to be in perfect condition or it starts to look shabby very fast. It is for anal people with no children. That was a cool staircase, though.
