This is my own arrangement, for solo lyre, of the haunting melody of the Israeli National Anthem, "Hatikvah" (The Hope), played on the long-forgotten "Kinnor" Lyre, last played by my very own, very ancient Levite ancestors in the courtyard of the Temple of Jerusalem, to accompany the almost legendary singing of the Levitical Choir...

Following the tragic destruction of the Jewish Temple by the Roman Legions under Titus in 70CE, the magical, mystical resonance of the ancient Kinnor Lyre of King David can be heard once AGAIN...in my spare room, Salford, Lancashire! ;o)

All of my 9 albums of mystical, ancient lyre music are now available from iTunes...

  • Where did you get your lyre?

  • This amazing "Kinnor" lyre is amazingly affordable, and is manufactured by Mid East Ethnic Instruments - I purchased mine, 3 years ago, from The Early Music Shop in Bradford, UK. For links to my series of "online lyre lessons", please visit my "ancientlyre" website...

  • Beautiful; I have an autistic grandson who just sat down at the piano and played Hatikvah; I will play your wonderful version for him; thank-you so much; continue with your truly inspired music..

  • Thank you! Can I interest you in my forthcoming CD,"King David's Lyre; Echoes of Ancient Israel"? This arrangement of Hatikvah is one of the 22 tracks which will feature on the album - each track of solo Kinnor Lyre music corresponding to each of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet...SPREAD THE WORD!!
