Well if it still has many traditional charms-don't recommend it; unless you want mass tourism to fuck it up. Enjoy it and please shut up. I went here in 1983 as a young backpacker and returned in 1999 and met my wife there. If you like Cretan hospitality and do not want package tourism ruining everywhere think!!!

@brianvoc plakias was fantastic. very relaxing and peaceful part of the island that still has many traditional charms. Can't wait to visit again and can't recommend it highly enough.
