What you said about pairing up attacks would be PERFECT for contest battles, if there is any. Because in the past, pokemon contests have been battling but out in the open with no oppenet that your actually attacking. If there was some way that a list of attacks that CAN be paired up is made, then you can use it for different effects, like in the anime.
