Actually I d not hear it like this.A baritone like Hvorostovsky is a lyric baritone and is definitely not a tenor. Tezier is not the same art of bariton but is no bass baritone. Kennlyside is no tenor... maybe a light baritone, Hampson ? the same one as the three others ? no way;
They are different kinds of baritones... each one is specialised in his own repertoire.
As for each voice type there are dramatic voices and light voices.

I do not think that exists such thing like a dramatic baritone. Bastianini is a baritone, period. ANything else, NOWDAYS, are baritones (bass baritones) and tenors (lyric baritones) without high notes because their bad technique, bad teachers they had... is not a fact of lack of voices. TEachers like Pilatos washing their hands with this sentence!
