Whats a UPS?

an uninteruptable power supply ensures you will have a constant flow of clean power even when outlet power is not available.

most ups's have a 12 volt battery able to power your:
laptop
mixer
external hard drives
possibly cd decks (depending on power required to run them)

running time depends on connected loads and battery size rated in mAh(milliamp hours) larger mAh - longer run time.

open it up, and find the defective part with a multi-meter. usually it is burnt or black. Their is also usually a fuse inside the case attached to the board to protect it. that may have blown also. replace that fuse if blown.

can you tell me the differance between 12 volt ups battery and a 12 volt car deisel battery ?

both look exactly the same - like an ordinary car battery

their really is not a difference, as long as it is 12 volts. the ups automatically charges the battery though and changes 12 volts to 120 automatically.

it is basically a large rechargeable battery that you can plug items into to power them.
