The slavery of the Irish and Scottish has been washed away; I'm an aspiring musician myself and my favorite genre is reggae.
When I was in Jamaica a couple of years ago and I mentioned that I had a lot of Irish in my ancestry, many people I spoke to were thrilled and began talking about the history of Irish slaves on their island. In fact, to this day, many Jamaicans consider the Irish their "cousins".
Peter Tosh often said he loved the Irish because they knew the struggle for freedom.
