You could just loop your tapered leader around the thingamabobber, but you'd be missing the point. Learn how to tie the right-angle nymphing system to rig your thingamabobber for maximum effectiveness. More fly fishing tips at www.OregonFlyFishingBlog.com.
Not a bad idea. I might give it a try one day... although I prefer to spend my day on the river catching fish - not tying knots ; )
worth a shot though.

This is assinine. And when you fished out the current hole and make your way up the river 20-50 feet, you need to CUT your tippet and retie the tippet on again for the right depth? Thats ridiculous. Oh wait, I see a fish in the hole to the left (and its depth is greater) now I have to tie on another length of tippet. Utterly ridiculous! And what happens to all that tippet you cut? It ends up in the riparian habitat. Stick with the original loop over method...casts fine and is easier!

This is the way I rig it! Except I use a clinch not instead of a double surgeons to connect the straight tippet to the butt section material connected to the fly line.
