this guy is awesome, he deserves his own show on horsepower, kinda like tool time meets the red green show. i think it would be a hit between his wife yelling at him and his insightful ways of doing things like using the hot plate, i never would have thought of that and ya gotta love the flanel that just makes it. with the dancing and all that, reminds me of my uncle frank

i have a question about the cam timing. Is it possible to align it 180 degrees off? You said line the dott on the cam between the two dots on the crank gear, so the two dots aren't on the diameter. hopefully you understand my question.

You can do it ! these videos are so helpful! You just need to find some guys into doing videos and have them help you film and edit.

I see you use Permatex to seal the cases. Have you ever tried Yamabond 4 ? Dennis

I think you forgot to put the o rings between the case halves, or am I going crazy ?

Will there be a time in the future where you will rebuild it again or another one? maybe this time with a cameraman? Everyone in youtube and your loyal followers will probably appreciate it. Thanks.

I was going to do a low budget engine where I was going to show how to check the used parts in your engine, what to look for and reuse your old pistons and cylinders by just replacing the rings but that is on hold. This engine I built just went in my Volks Rod. I just got that on the street. I just turned 70 and am running out of steam. (-; I may still get to it.

why did you use case sealing nuts and install them upside down? the red part of the nut goes down to seal out oil leaks..
joebug55 2 years ago
The only reason I use them is they come in the kit. I use Permatex Non Harding sealer under the washers and never have a leak.
If you put the red side down you don't get a true torque on the nuts and over time the torque will change, it will loosen and you don't want that.
