BeOS was definitely cool and I'm happy to see it's still being developed in the open source community. Can't wait to try out Haiku.
Though I must admit the name and the little leaves on the logo are just....completely gay. Why couldn't they have named it SKULLCRUSHER OS or something.

@llelectronics i didnt know flash was only for linux what do windows users use to watch youtube on the internet. also i thought gimp was for windows mac and linux. and wine is not just for linux wine is also made to work on mac i dont know if you heard of crossover a wine project

This is pretty cool. I tried Haiku ages ago and I liked the general look and feel of it. I think they should really focus on integrating Haiku with the web. That's the direction that computers are taking anyhow.

@goochbuntu html5 support is rudimentary right now, so now html5 video support yet.

I remember BeOS had really good support for audio applications (very low latency). What's the current state of Haiku's audio system?

@tb303pOsiTiv3 Latency is still low and Cortex (the audio connection kit basically) is still available.
Sound support is provided by native drivers and the ported over OSS (OpenSound Server)
