The "Range" is the "MadMax" of Night Clubs! Filmed Sat 1-14-12
This is a short Video of night life at "The Range" a popular open air "Night Club" located at Slab City. Slab City, Niland, California is "Off the Grid". Electrical Power is from solar panels and storage batteries. At the range the batteries are in an old trailer that also houses the audio equipment. Slab City is Free Living. There is no paid electricity, running water, sewer, trash pick up or other services. Living there is totally Free. The inhabitants are a mix Snow Birds, Aging Hippies, Bikers, Homeless People, Retired Teachers and even a few old retired Marines. Slab City is located on Camp Dunlap which is an abandoned WW2 Marine Corps Base. In the winter months the population is several thousand.
