  • @surfdude53 Main breathing organ is the diaphragm. It pull air IN, and when it relaxes, the air is pushed out. Two sets of muscles activate the ribs, one widening the chest, the other contracting it. Used mainly for extra air in effort. The muscles of the belly (abdominal). when they contract, they push the diaphragm up, expelling more air. We use various combinations of this mechanism for various purposes. These and the coordination with our body movement "breathing patterns".
