Also, you can only get the Medkit after retrieving the first fragment for the time gate. Otherwise, the area is blocked off.

@DeathGodCaine - My bad! After getting the Chocobo, turn around and jump up the ridge. Bear right, and you'll stumble across a container with the medkit up a hill.
