This North-West based ensemble is steeped in the fusion of heavy funk, jazz and musical friendships. The musicians have performed with an impressive array of artists and bands such as Kila, Asian Dub Foundation, Chuck Berry, Primal Scream and The Republic of Loose. The line up features horns, vocals, guitars, bass, hammond organ, drums and percussion. Taking inspiration from various artists and genres, they have created an intoxicating blend of jazz, funk, soul, blues, reggae and hip-hop and began to rework material from bands such as Nirvana, Radiohead, The Police as well as Miles Davis and John Coltrane. A Rare Groove Funk Orchestra show is about immersing yourself in the infectious grooves and blistering improvisations.
