McCain claims Phill Gramm doesn't speak for him.

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) claims that his "econ brain," former senator Phil "nation of whiners" Gramm, doesn't speak for him. "Phil Gramm does not speak for me. I speak for me."

I don't want to sound like some kind of "whiner" in a "nation of whiners" but just two years ago it used to cost me about $400 each time I filled up my heating oil tank.

Now it's costing me over $1000 per tank.

Thanks for that "Enron loophole" Senators McCain and Phil Graham. Now I can either be flat broke or I can freeze to death this Winter. Not to whine or anything.

And this guy is McCain's chief economic adviser?

yeah, but he's your economic adviser! the guy who helped deregulate banks and the futures is your adviser??? the very things that helped get us in this mess (not to mention greenspan, but at least he didnt push lenders to be so corrupt, unlike mr enron gramm)
