@highnrising fuck the hall of fame, most worthless accolade ever invented. with that said, I doubt it's because he was gay, I'd never even heard that before. if anything I'd say it's got a lot more to do with the people in Nashville not knowing shit about country music. I mean, if there's a country music hall of fame without Gram Parsons, then whats even the point?

@davyfiore kind of like Ernest Tubb, his voice just has a lot of soul and grittiness which is what this kind of music is all about, not auto-tuned Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, etc.

he wasn't put in the hall of fame because he didn't get to the Opry every weekend because of touring. He Made more money and exposure on tour. He also upset the establishment by starting a publishing company to publish his own music. He made a lot of enemies in the 1950's. He was in fact the 1950's music wise. Honky Tonk, Bluegrass, and Rockabilly forever and to h**l with the junk since.
