Larry Kramer pleading to Marjorie Hill, PhD, GMHC's current CEO, and the GMHC Board to NOT sign the lease on the proposed 33 Street space for GMHC and find an alternative location. Video taken at GMHC Community Advisory Board meeting on May 13, 2010 by Mark de Solla Price. Shortly after this clip, Kramer actually got down on his knees pleading.

The proposed 33 Street space has No possibility of a kitchen/cafeteria for hot lunches/dinner programs (serves 15,000 per year); 3 VERY long avenue blocks from Subways; no possibility of on-site HIV testing or medical service; GMHC Clients will have to use "service elevators, not the main entrance. GMHC *MUST* move by the end of the year and the ONLY proposed space would kill off GMHC. The clients would stop coming and then the funders would stop paying. A far better choice would be to move to a "swing" space for a year or two while preparing for a new, permanent home.

Unfortunately Marjorie Hill is a total political animal who is more concerned about finding her next job than she is the clients at GMHC. She's a total phony who spends most of her day inventing "dress codes" for the staff and ordering color-coordinated office supplies.
