Master helmsman uss antietam cg-54 early 90's. Those were the days. 1/4 degree course corrections for hrs. at a time. "hold fast"

I worked hundreds of hours as an enlisted man on supply and ammunition unreps. I remember the huge hangar deck being filled with five hundred pound bombs. We broke the pallets down and used hernia bars to move the bombs one by one down to the magazines.
Supply unreps were a real opportunity. The mess decks had substandard food but the chiefs and the officers had good food which they paid extra for. I confess that many cases of good food got "damaged" during unreps.

Man, that brings back memories! CONREP was slow though. The VERTREP with the H-46 was much faster! I was crew on an H-46 for two Med cruises with HC-8 way back in the 1980's.

we went to seychelles. that place had nice beaches buut uother than that it sucked. their economy is so bad that the hotel we went to made us pay in us dollars they wouldent accept their own money

Yep...it was humid, the hotels smelled like mildew and overall, it was just sub-standard. The beaches were beautiful and the beach cookouts were fantastic, but overall, I wasn't impressed.
