Solid. You even nailed the offbeat 16th note bit. Mine always sounds like crap. =P

@drumz4jah couldn't agree more. People so easily oversee the technicality and importance of being able to play a tight, clean groove. It's what separates the men from the boys who just blast demis.

It actually is not the drum part to WIH.
I know this inside and out and I have a transcript.
You are not playing the main groove right and missing so much detail
and subtlety. Have a deeper listen. It's not it. HH part is the king kong pattern:
x xx xx like that. Not straight 8th notes. So much more that you are missing.
You are driving a semi over this intricate and cool groove. I'll post my own video soon.

Solid groove. Laid back, relaxed.. doesn't feel labored like a lot of covers do. Well done.
-
hey Patrickphx11.....Id like to see you keep this beat on you Wallmart kit!!!

Patrick and Ivan are jealous bitches. That was both faithful to the original and adding your own flair (which I guess makes it very very worng!).

What in the HELL is hard about this?

does it have to be hard technically to be worth playing? Besides, it's making it groove that's the challenging part.

Nice job....my teacher Mr. Carlo out of San Jose explained this arrangement to me in the mid 70's. It was the 2nd funk song I learned. There is the push pull technique that was incorprated for the RH. I know this arrangement so well, that I was mimicking the brass and vocal parts...

I never looked at it as push pull...that's interesting. Thanks for the compliment!

Hey, thanks! That means a lot coming from a bass player that plays this tune...I've never actually had a chance to play it live.
