NOTE: I am using examples of sexism towards women here because it is better researched than sexism towards men. Yes, men experience sexism too, however when it comes to men it is severely under researched.

Are you a sexist? I am too! But what is sexism exactly?

There's a great deal of research on Ambivalent (Benevolent & Hostile) Sexism out there. If you can get to a university computer you can pull a ton of peer-reviewed research. Much of it was pioneered by Glick & Fiske. Be sure to check it out. :)

Oh, and I know this is silly but... I really wanted to play with my new green screen more. :)

Why is in your mind sexism equal to men having different standards toward women? What about the opposite?

Is it sexist that a mother has better chances of getting child custody in most western countries? Or that where military service is obligatory for healthy males, the same standards don't apply for women?

Or even the fact women can get away with laughing on TV regarding the case of a woman chopping off her husband's penis because he asked for a divorce?

Is feminism sexist in nature?

What is really weird is this: now people are actually debating whether Society is prejudiced in favor over women over men, or vice versa. Still, I suppose that is one of the prices we pay for living in a Society that claims to believe in Freedom of Speech.
