@christopherve7alb @energizerXIII you can also get a program like Audacity, for windows and linux, and generate a test signal in there. What you're hearing is a 1 kilohertz (1000Hz) sine wave, Amplitude 0.8 :)

All I did to get the noise was record a few seconds form a tv station airing a test pattern and then loop it.
