The turbines proposed for the East Mullingar area are 2.5 Mega Watt turbines which are 85 Metres to hub height - with a blade height of 50 Metres (Total height: 135 Metres). Planning was initially granted for 10 turbines in the Cootehill area - there are now 65. [WATCH WITH SOUND TURNED ON TO HEAR A TURBINE 2:25 ON VIDEO]
All the people that posted positive comments here are gravely uneducated in the matter! The whole bloody point is that they DO MAKE NOISE!!! they cast unsightly shadows, devalue property, have negative health effects, nd devastate tourism! its easy for people to drive away from these monstrosities but when they are put in your back garden lets see how "attractive" they are then. Wind is not a sufficient substitute as wonderful as it would b the fact is that its not! go do ur homework people!!!!

@drquinn89 yes you're right. this is the future. In a non residential area where they can expand and actually be profitable as opposed to relying on governmental subsidies . be realistic
