@maccagrabme: never hade the chance to do a A>B comparisson but I would say the pro-12 sounds alright, but I sold it since I recon I could make as nice sounding Prophet 5-style patches on my Nordmodular. ;)

@lesingemonotone So apart from the note stealing, was the sound close enough to the real thing or a long way off? I have the Minimax and that sounds great, pretty deep on the bass end too, a lot smoother sounding than any vsti that I've used so far.

If they use the same method of emulation as they did on the Pulsar platform, 96KHz clearly sounds better, and brings out the high end. My OB-SX has convinced me to stay with real analogs. Next up is a mix of PlanB and Doepfer, but it will be a slow process. Not cheap :)

i think that the better way to test this tool is to play it on the lowest frequencies...
that was the power of the prophet 5... and for sure it will tell us the difference... however ... an interesting tool ! VERY GOOD CHOICE !

Jag är inte säker, men kanske har de uppdaterat firmware sen förra sommaren då jag sålde min...jag hade v2.0.

Ok det hørtes ikke særlig bra ut. Det er synd at Sonic Core ikke tar hensyn til disse feilene og fikser dem. Kunne en få eliminert disse "bugsene" ville det vært et strålende produkt. Den låter jo vakkert og ekte analog i mine ører.

Det sämsta med Pro-12an var att jag tyckte den "stal" röster på ett fult sätt ibland. Polyfonin var för det mesta inte alls 12, utan snarare 5 (OK, det är en prophet5-klon). Men ibland hade jag också problem med att ett nytt anslag på ett ljud med lång release kunde helt plötsligt "döda" alla röster, även fastän jag bara la till en ton...buggigt.

I just bought a asb minimax and I think its a great sounding synth so far.
What was it about the Pro 12 you didnt like?
(I,m wonder because its tempting to buy one or perhaps its better to save up for the new Prophet 08? ...)

It's nice but it's not anywhere near an original Pro5. Better than most virtual analogue synths though.
