(HD) Rafters, River, Bridge, Tunnel, Train. Count The Cars!

Count the Cars, 39 TT Flat Cars, 1 Bulkhead Flatcar, all Empty going Eastbound through Weber Canyon, Through the Tunnel, Over the Classic UP bridge, Over the Rafters in the Weber River. UP 4645 and 9714 exit the tunnel with 9714 smoking. This train had hauled pipe west, except for the last car, a bad order car. This train is seen in " High View" on my Channel. July 2010

Yes it is famous, but I agree that it is hard to shoot in that canyon, bad angles a lot of freeway noise.  On this day I had to wait 3 hours for one eastbound. At least I got the rafters!

Ah, yes...Taggarts...

I've spent some time there, upon occasion, but never really got very good footage. I think the best vantage point is down the road a ways, past the freeway overpass, where there's kind of a clearing spot on the side of the road. You can look all the way down to the tunnels, but the bad part is that you can't really get the perspective of the bridge+tunnel.
